MonteCedro, located in Altadena, opened its doors to its first Creative Living residents in December 2015. This beautiful, sophisticated senior living community, custom built entirely from the ground up, is the first Life Plan community in the San Gabriel Valley.
And while MonteCedro is brand-new, our not-for-profit owner/operator—Episcopal Communities & Services, Inc. (ECS)––has been a premier provider of quality care for seniors for nearly 100 years. MonteCedro is one of three not-for-profit, Life Plan senior living communities designed and developed expressly by ECS to fulfill their mission to serve seniors.
It all began with a determined deaconess and her dime collection.
Deaconess Sophie Miller helped establish the first Episcopal Home in Alhambra, CA, in 1923, for the purpose of caring for widows of Episcopal priests. She did it literally by gathering donations, one dime at a time.
We invite you to learn more about our evolution into the innovative and diverse Episcopal Communities & Services of today, and the many ways we serve and enrich the lives of seniors of all faiths, ages and economic backgrounds on our campuses.
